The health situation in the city has been steadily and satisfactorily maintained at normal levels over the past decade. This can be attested by widespread control of epidemics and communicable disease.

In terms of education, the City of Baguio has maintained its prominence as a center of education for higher learning in Northern Luzon. It has sustained a high literacy rate of 97.6% in 1990 and increased to 97.64% in 1996.
